TCYHA Injury Policy 04/02/2012 TCYHA Family,
We would like to briefly address our injury policy.
Player Evaluation Schedule - Squirt, Peewee, Bantam
TCYHA Squirts, Peewees, and Bantams,
Please find the schedule for Player Evaluations for the 2015-2016 season below. All Squirt, Peewee, and Bantam players are required to attend Player Evaluations in order to determine the proper team placement for next season. Twin City Youth Hockey is a no-cut league, but requires Player Evaluations in order to determine the correct team placement.
Given the growth of the program, we are anticipating two separate hours for each division for Skills, Scrimmage, and Coaches Selection Scrimmage. Please read on to understand which players should attend which sessions.
For those not familiar with our Player Evaluations, our process has been designed to ensure the highest degree of fairness.
Peak Performance has been contracted to conduct the evaluations. This means that no Coach or Board member from Twin City will be rating your player.
All players being evaluated will be assigned a number and given a pinny to be worn during the evaluations. Player's names will not be known to the evaluators. Evaluators will only have the assigned number.
All players must attend a Skills evaluation session. The Skills sessions will be broken down by last name. Please attend the proper session based on your player's last name.
Each player will receive a score from the skills session. The score received during the skills session will be used to determine if the player should attend Scrimmage Session 1 or Scrimmage Session 2.
Based on their assignment, players should attend either Scrimmage Session 1 or Scrimmage Session 2. Players will receive a score for their Scrimmage Session.
In the week between the Scrimmage Session and Coaches Selection Scrimmage, Twin City will select Coaches for the 2015-2016 season.
Players must return for the Coaches Selection Scrimmage. Players from Scrimmage Session 1 should attend Coaches Selection Scrimmage 1. Players from Scrimmage Session 2 should attend Coaches Selection Scrimmage 2.
Coaches will work with our Players Representative and combined rating scores from the initial Skills and Scrimmage sessions to make player picks during Coaches Scrimmage session.
Coaches *do not* have the ability to pick players arbitrarily during Coaches Selection. Players will be assigned by range with coaches having certain discretion based on evaluation numbers. For example, the top four Squirt players by evaluation will be a lock for the Squirt 1 team. Coaches will have discretion of the next five players out of ten by rating.
Final counts of players who are locked and players who are available based on coaches discretion will not be known until final player registration counts are known.
Final team selections will be presented to the Board of Directors and voted upon. Players will not be notified of their team selection until after ratification by the Board of Directors.
Players who have not paid their $75 evaluation fee and $125 deposit will not be placed on a team and will be moved to the waitlist.
Please consult the table below for times & locations of our Player Evaluation sessions.

Squirt, Peewee, Bantam Registration for 2015-2016 Now Open
TCYHA Squirts, Peewee, and Bantams,
Registration is now open for the 2015-2016 season. Please consult the chart below for determining the proper division for your player. Parents should register their child online using our website by selecting the Register Online link on the left navigation bar. Registration for 2015-2016 requires a $75 non-refundable Player Evaluation fee plus an additional refundable deposit of $125. Total amount due at registration is $200. Total tuition cost for the season is $1650. In order to keep costs manageable, we have moved to a seven (7) payment schedule starting on April 1 and ending on October 1.
Although Twin City Youth Hockey is a no-cut league, limitations on ice availability have required us to cap registrations for our teams. We strongly recommend registering as early as possible to ensure your child a spot. Any players who have not paid their $75 Player Evaluation fee and $125 deposit by March 23, 2015 will be moved to the waitlist and will not be rostered on a team. There will be NO exceptions. Please see our 2015-2016 TCYHA Payment Policy for complete information.
A separate posting will follow containing dates for Player Evaluations. All Squirt, Peewee, and Bantam players are required to attend their Player Evaluation sessions.

Mites are those players born between 2007 and 2010. Mites are not required to attend Player Evaluations. Mites will instead be evaluated at the start of their season.

New Members -- Import your schedule into Google Calendar
Many of you already are doing so, but for those who have not yet, here is a video explaining how you can add your team's schedule directly into your Google Calendar so that it is available on your Android smart phone or computer.
Welcome new members. There have been many questions recently on accessing schedules for your team, particularly from new players in either No Player Left Behind, Learn to Skate, and House Hockey. Accessing your schedule is easy.
To do so, use the Team menu above in the horizontal navigation menu. From there, choose select Choose a Team, your division, and then your team. For example, U11 No Player Left behind would be Team -> No Player Left Behind -> U11 NPLB.
You will also begin to receive email notifications approximately two days before each scheduled practice or game. The email will let you know the date, time, and rink that you will be at. For those that are new, there are two rinks at the Civic Center, Gaetz and Landry. The Gaetz is the rink closest to the street. Landry is next to the Gaetz and is separated by the parking lot.
We would like to briefly address our injury policy.
In the players' best interests, any injury that results in a player missing games or receiving treatment by a physician requires a clearance note from a physician before the player will be allowed back on the ice. This note will also serve to close out the accident form that is generated at the time of injury, and will be kept in confidence.
While we do not wish to place an additional burden on you, such prudence is required for the long-term health of all of our children.
Thank you for your cooperation.
If you have any questions, please contact your division director or the players representative in person, or email the appropriate one at:
